I'm happy to say that the park is being rebuilt this week and the workers are scheduled to finish the job tomorrow. Here are some pictures I took last night of the progress that has been made.
I took more pictures tonight after another day's labor was done. You can see that it is really taking shape now. They accomplished a lot today. Much more wood has been added, as well as the green slides.
I'm not sure what this part is going to be yet, but if they finish tomorrow as is planned, I will find out soon enough. I am so happy to see this being rebuilt. There are so many children who play on this playground who were upset by the damage done to it. I'm glad the people of my town care enough about the next generation to know that it was important to make this right again.

Earlier this week we had some near record breaking high temperatures. On my walk that evening, I noticed a few of the park buzzards sitting on the ground...
instead of up in their tree.
I thought that perhaps it was cooler down on the grass than up in the top of the tree.
I tried to get closer, but I wasn't very successful. The three were quickly down to just one.
And then in the next instant, it too flew away back to the treetops.

It is wonderful to see that the children will once again have a place to play.
That is funny about the buzzards!
Hope you enjoy the weekend.
It's wonderful that they have rebuilt the playground equipment! Nice place for the children! I would want to get rid of the buzzards!
Read your earlier post and agreed it was plain STUPID. How nice you guys get together to build and rebuild the Imagination Station. Like the title reminds me of a motivational movie acted by Kevin Costner "Field of Dreams". The buzzards are not those buzzards in the theme song Mackenna's Gold sang by Jose Feliciano?
Thank you, Mildred. Hope you have a nice weekend too. The kids in town are glad to see it being rebuilt too. There were several there checking on the progress when I was there taking pictures.
Dorothy, the buzzards are kind of big and ugly, but I don't mind that they are around. They don't bother me.
Bananaz, the sad thing is they never did catch whomever it was that burned it. Yes, "Old Turkey Buzzard" is the name of that song, I think. :D
It really warms my heart to see that park being rebuilt for the kids in your area. I can just imagine all the happy little faces and laughter that will fill that area when it's completed.
Cool pics of the buzzards!
I saw two rabbits in our yard one morning last week and I thought of you and the pictures you took of the bunnies in your neighborhood. I couldn't get any pictures of the ones I saw. It was still too dark outside and they ran off as soon as I opened the front door. LOL
Have a great weekend! :)
AHHHH, it makes me want to be a kid again, lol.... What a wonderful thing that is being done for the children....
The playground looks better than ever! You live in a charming town. I love so many things you've told us about it. (And I LOVE buzzards! They are the most graceful when it comes to flight.)
So happy to hear about the new playground! And yeah..a heat wave! Until today here...finally...it got so chilly this afternoon, I was actually cold outside!! It was really windy and if it's below 80 degrees, with a cool wind...I'm freezing! (my husband finds that hilarious!)
Yeay! It's rebuild and look good Daisy!
What's the temperature at your place now Daisy? In my place my place here is about 28 - 33 Celsius. I can tell you its so hot!
Hahahahah
Mountain Mama, for some reason the bunnies around here will usually let me get fairly close to them with the camera before they run away. I think they are just more used to being around people than the bunnies that live in a more rural area. :-)
Lady Jane, doesn't it look like a fun place? I wish I had had such a place to play when I was a kid. :D
Diana, I do feel lucky to live here. This has been a good place to raise my sons, I think. Yes, I love to watch the buzzards in the sky. They float so effortlessly. :)
Becky, hasn't this weather been crazy! We never know what to expect from one day to the next! :D
Uh oh, that does sound pretty hot there, Netster. We had a couple of days really hot like that earlier in the week. It is much cooler here today, though. Today we have 56 degrees Fahrenheit (which is about 13 Celsius, I think). It is supposed to warm up more this afternoon, though. :)
wow, better than ever - this is great to see. I love community parks, we use them so much with our grandkids. I've read about your weather, ...and we are cool and moist here...
The play area is looking great again. It's nice to see the kids playing there again. :)
Such a nice place for the kids to play. There's a need for more places like that. That's so funny about the birds. The weather has been to hot so far.. Susie
Susie, it is so rarely that I see the buzzards down on the ground in the park like that. Almost always they are in the tree or swooping around in the sky nearby.
Park Buzzards. Why does that strike my funny bone so much.
I can't wait for your town children to enjoy such a delightful place, it can't help but stir some imaginations.
Daisy,
I'm so glad the children's playground has been rebuilt. It's wonderful the kids will have a nice place to play again. Thanks for giving us an update on this playground. I rejoice it has been rebuilt.
Daisy, like the others who commented, I too am glad the children's play area is being rebuilt and hopefully will not be damaged. The construction work made me feel like i was there.
HA! Park buzzards does sound funny, now that you mention it, Lanny. :D That is where I always see them, though. It's their home! haha!
Brenda and Beatrice, thank you. I feel proud of my community that this playground has been rebuilt. :)
I just don't get some people, why would anyone burn down a kids park?? I hope they caught them. Anyway the guys have done a brilliant rebuilding job with the new one, I'm sure the children will be thrilled to bits.
They never did catch who did it, unfortunately. I am proud of my town that this has been rebuilt. I'm glad they didn't let the actions of one or two ruin it for so many.
