Don't Blink!

This past Saturday night was prom night at the local high school. My son and his girlfriend were in attendance. They went out with this group of their friends for dinner before the dance.  After the dance, they had a quick change of clothes into more casual attire before heading out to the games, food, and fun of the after prom activities.

The school year is rapidly coming to a close, and in less than two weeks my son will be turning 17 years old.  Honestly, I don't know where the time goes.  Don't blink.  You don't want to miss anything!

What lovely photos and a lovely dress.
Your son and his girlfriend seem well suited Daisy. You must be very proud. The time does indeed pass so quickly.

Yeah time really zoom past like rockets and for all your know the next minute you would be a proud grandma cuddling your grand child..haha. Nice couples, all dressed to kill at the prom night.

Thank you, Betsy. I thought they both looked so grown up. :)

Lynne, the two of them have been dating for nearly three years now. It seems like they have known each other forever. :-)

Mildred, I thought her dress was so pretty too. It was so different from the others in her group, and it really stood out (in a good way!). :)

Oh gosh, Bananaz, I'm not quite ready to be a grandma yet, but, yes, I'm sure that time will be here before I know it too. :)

You are so right Daisy. Time goes by so quickly. One minute you're changing diapers and the next you are going to gradution. He is so handsome. Pretty girlfriend too. Love all those gorgeous dresses.

Thank you, all. :-) I guess there's no way to slow time down, so it's best to enjoy every moment that we can and treasure the memories.

Ah, prom. Good times. And you're so right about not blinking. I wish I could put mine in a jar and keep her exactly like she is now.

Great photos, D.

Thanks, Cary. :-)

I don't blame you. Your daughter is precious, so sweet and so funny. I wouldn't want her to ever change either.

I know what you mean. It seems such a short time ago that my boys were little. Now they're young men and both are taller than I am.

Oh, isn't it true?? My last one, is graduating in just a couple of weeks.........where did that little cowboy go?? I think I blinked..... Your son and his date look so cute!

Time flies when you're having fun, it still seems like yesterday when my eldest son was born but he turns 6 this year...its scary. Great pics, it looks like your son had a great time at his prom.

Daisy said...

Kathleen, it will be another two years before this one graduates from high school, but his brother will be graduating from college with his Bachelor's Degree this summer. I'm not ready for that either! :)

Ryan, I remember when my sons were as young as yours. It really doesn't seem like very long ago at all.

They did have fun at the prom. It was a really well organized event this year. :)

Sadie has the best taste, both in boyfriend and dress! I hope they had a good time at their prom.

Daisy said...

Thank you, Diana. :-) Yes, I think they had a lot of fun. I like the way our school does it. After the dance, the kids change into jeans and t-shirts and go to the gym for a lot of fun games, and they have drawings for prizes and such--all very well chaperoned.

Sounds like it was a wonderful event, Daisy. The activities for the after-prom events sound like a fun evening. When I graduated, the big treat was to go to the shore (NJ).

Daisy said...

Going to the shore sounds like fun too, Beatrice. I think some of the kids look forward more to the after prom events than to the prom itself. :)

What a great looking couple! Your son looks so much like you Daisy and I absolutely LOVE her dress! I bet they had a lot of fun. Wow, seventeen! It seems like such a long time until my son reaches that age but I've come to realize how quickly the time flies with kids. I'm trying not to blink! LOL

Hope you have a great weekend :)

Oh what a handsome son with his beautiful prom date. Time does go by so quickly, in the blink of an eye.

Daisy said...

Thank you, David. I know it seems like a long time away right now, but before you know it your daughter will be going to the prom too. :)

Mountain Mama, I've heard that a lot, that my son looks like me. :)

Yes, 17. I can hardly believe it myself!

Thank you, Kathy. :-)

Happy weekend everyone!

Don't blink indeed! Seems only a few years ago son#2 was doing boyish things...Now he's a handsome young man. The girls look so pretty in their colorful gowns. They grow up wayyyyy to quickly. My son is 40yrs old now and I remember him touching my cheeks and saying how much he loved me like it was only yesterday. Hope you have a good weekend dear Daisy!

Daisy said...

Thank you, Cassie. I hope you have a good weekend too!

great pics - handsome guy and pretty girlfriend...love the photo all the girls' dresses.

from reading above i read your son will be off in a few months for college - leaving the nest - how are you about that...

and gorgeous trees...i think you are right about heaven but i have read from NDE's that they also emit a musical chord...how cool that will be if true.

Daisy said...

Hi Sandy. I have very mixed feelings about my older son going off to Florida for college. I'm proud of him and what he has accomplished, and I'm glad he has set goals for himself that he is working towards. I am sad that he will be so far away, though, I can't deny that. Everything is going to change. I don't know how often we will get to see him--probably not very often at all. The younger one has talked to me about feeling sad that his big brother is moving away too. I didn't have any words to offer to him to console him and make it any better for him.

A musical chord? Yes, that would indeed be cool!
