We have a Winter Storm Warning from the weatherman. The city officials here have declared a Level 2 Snow Emergency on the road conditions. (LEVEL 2: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution.) Schools are closed, and I'm off of work for today.
I haven't ventured outside yet, and have no plans on doing so today. The picture below shows the view from my front door.
Our street is out there somewhere. The plows haven't been through here yet to make a path.
A warm-up is predicted for the beginning of next week (along with a lot of rain and the usual seasonal flooding as all of this snow melts.)
My neighbor from across the street is out clearing our driveway. I can hear the noise of the Bobcat running out there. Bless his heart.
I think I'll wrap up in an afghan with a cup of tea and look at my Gurney's Seed Catalog that came in the mail this week. After all spring is just twenty-three days away, right?

Safe travels to your sob, Daisy!
Your afghan/tea/seed catalog sounds like just the ticket!
Have a good day!
So sorry Daisy. I think you have the right idea though. Stay indoors with a spring mag and a cup of hot stuff. Maybe your son should wait till tomorrow. Ya'll stay safe.
Oh DAisy...I am so sorry but I do hope you are wrapped in that afghan with a cup of tea. I will send out prayers for your son's safety in his drive home!
And I don't blame you for going back to bed!!! Surely it will be Spring very soon!
Thank you, all. You would not believe the difference outside now compared to this morning. The sun has come out this afternoon, and we have blue skies again! What is even better news, just a few minutes ago my son arrived here home safely. I'm very relieved. :-)
Hope you all have a nice weekend!
HI Daisy, I will keep your son in my prayers today. Hope he gets home safely.. I know you are worried...
You all have really had the snow this winter. We got rain last night and lots of HIGH winds.... But--no damage that I know of.
Have a good weekend and enjoy your big boy!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Thank you, Betsy. He is home safe now. Just arrived a few minutes ago. I'm glad to hear you didn't have any damage there. :)
Hubby was going to go up your way today until he heard the forecast from his sister. Unbelievable!
Glad to see your son got home safe.
Jen, the conditions were really bad this morning. They have improved considerably since then, thank goodness! :D Enjoy your weekend!
Holy cow, Daisy. I don't even know what crazy weather can mean for a community!
In the PNW folks wring hands and shut down schools and call out county snow plows when a snow flurry of an accumulated two inches is projected!
I guess we're somewhat used to it here, Rebecca. It does wear on us, though. We just expect to drive slower, and we know to allow extra time to get somewhere. It also helps that the people here help each other out.
What a difference from last Friday! Did you say SPRING break?? How ironic. :>}
Hello Daisy!
I thought I saw the icicles melted and in a short day already a bad weather?
You take care daisy :D don't go out if you don't need to.
Cheers & happy Weekend
Diana, it's surprising how different those days were being only a week apart! Spring break--yes, very ironic! HA! His spring break is early compared to some. My younger son's high school break is at the end of March! There should be quite a bit of difference in the weather by then, I hope!! :-)
Hi Netster! Yes, weather changes rapidly around here quite often. Those icicles were all gone, but now they have returned, and they are even longer than before!! Happy weekend to you too! :D
I don't think anybody will be calling anybody when spring arrives. We'll all be too busy hiding under our own afghans! :)
You are probably right, Sandra! Thanks for visiting and commenting here. :D
I hope it's going well there, all snuggly and warm with a cup of hot Red Zinger and nice book
I think it's the first time ever that it didn't rain on the Tail Riders this past Friday
Things are good here, Paige. Thank you. We are getting rain here right now. Our icicles have melted and a lot of the snow has gone too. We're hoping there won't be flooding now. Always something, isn't it? HA! :D
Daisy, I was checking out the post and looking at the snow pics, then came to the comments and read that it has stopped, sun came out, and then that it's raining - WHAT a weather event(s) you have had today. Glad you son made it some safely and hope you got to enjoy the cup of tea.
Thank goodness your son arrived home safely. I don't like my boys travelling in the best of conditions, never mind in a snowstorm. I think I'll continue my hibernation under the covers, sounds like a good idea.
Hi Beatrice! We've had a real smorgasabord of weather here the last three days. Today there were tornado watches and flood warnings out! We are doing OK here. Some other spots in our corner of the state, not so lucky, are having quite a few roads closed and other problems due to flooding and rivers coming out of their banks.
Ryan, I was very relieved when he got home. It all worked out for the best. March is almost here. Spring can't be far behind. :)
Ding Dong! it's time to wake up hahaha
HA HA HA! Thanks, Netster. You make me laugh. :-)
Spring is 19 days away now! We look at snow as a great excuse to stay in bed too!! Cuddling with our mommy & daddy. bol!
Smooches from pooches,
BabyRD & Hootie
Your tittle reminds me of a Frog and Toad story!!
Cassie (and BabyRD and Hootie too), it won't be long now. I'm very ready for spring to arrive. :)
HA! I didn't think of that, Dapoppins, but you're right, there is a similar Frog and Toad story. :)
