It's in the Air

It snowed today.  Since the day after Thanksgiving, our local Chamber of Commerce has been piping Christmas music out over our downtown square during daytime shopping hours.  The Christmas decorations are up at the library.  It's cold outside.  Yes, the air definitely has the feel of Christmas to it.

I haven't played any music for you for  a while.  This seemed like a good one to play for you today.  There are a few different versions of this going around.  This particular one calls this event a Random Act of Culture.  I like that.  It appeals to me.

I love this song. Two things happen to me when I hear this song.  I get chills, and I well up with tears.  I'm not sure why this song moves me in this way, but it does.  It always has.  I wish I could have been there when this video was made.

We got flurries here during the night --but no accumulations.... Sounds like Christmas is definitely in the air these days.... Love that video... It just makes me feel so good...

Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Mildred! Yes, already! I'm not really ready for it, but here it is. We got enough to make everything white, but luckily nothing we had to shovel. :-)

Jackie, you're in Canada and have no snow? That hardly seems fair. You're farther north than we are! I'd be happy to share what I have here with you. :D Thank you for visiting here today!

Hi Betsy! It does seem like Christmas is everywhere you turn right now. I know how much you like snow. I hope you get some soon. :D

Good morning Daisy. I just love to hear you talk about your town. I can tell you love where you live. It sounds like a place I'd love to live. Small town - everybody knows each other - just so quaint. Hope you have a good day.

Wow! Snow! With the Christmas music, the library decorated for Christmas, it puts one in the mood for the holidays. Thanks for the video!
Enjoy the sights, and sounds of approaching Christmas and the snow!

That snow sure is doing the rounds! Stay warm, and mind you don't slip!

Lady Jane, thank you! I was singing along with it too. :-)

Becca, it is a pretty nice place to be. There are good people living here. That is what makes the town special. :)

Betty, this has always been a very powerful and moving song for me. I couldn't tell you how many times I've heard it, but it gets me every time. :)

Thank you, Nensa. This was just a little bit of snow we got this time around. I'm sure later in the winter, we will get several inches on the ground. When we do, I'll take pictures so you can see what it looks like with snow here. Happy weekend to you, my friend. :)

Hi Melissa! Wouldn't it have been exciting to be in that crowd! I would have loved it! :D

Thank you, Brenda! I hope you are enjoying the holiday season too. :D

Thanks, Lynne. Luckily, we didn't get any ice this time around with the snow so the walking and driving isn't bad. I do have trouble staying warm, though. It seems like I get cold in December and don't warm up again until the end of March!! HA!

Have a good weekend, everybody! :D

Love that sunrise ... love you in the hat, too.

Hope you had a lovely holiday celebration. Enjoy your winter's eve ~

Marydon, if I remember right, you had quite a bit of snow last year. I'm sure it will get there eventually.
:-)

We did have a very nice Thanksgiving here, thank you.

I'm glad you like my hat--seemed like it was time to put it on!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Nice one - our daugther can't wait for snow but it can be rare in Virginia - there was loads last year, tho

Daisy said...

Hi David. You never know when or where it will hit. We had quite a bit the last couple of years too. My sons always loved playing in the snow. They still do somewhat, but they've come to like it less now that they're both old enough to drive in it. It's also not near as much fun for them to shovel the driveway as it used to be for them to make snowmen. HA! I hope you get some for your daughter to enjoy. :)

We've had heavy snow here for a week now brrr freezing cold. I have songs that make me emotional too, the power of music eh.

Daisy said...

Ryan, I think you've had quite a bit more snow than we've had here. I'm already tired of the cold, and it's only December! How am I going to make it clear to March? :-)

Yes, music has all kinds of power over me. Makes me happy and sad, makes me want to dance or sing or sleep. It brings back all kinds of memories too depending on the song.

Andrea said...

Thank you Daisy for dropping by my blog. I like your post here, but when i ready the things about you...sorry i dont dance!

Daisy said...

Hello Andrea! You don't have to dance to visit here. Everyone is welcome. Thank you for your comment. Have a good weekend! :)

Marydon, I hope you enjoy your evening too. We got new flurries here again today too. Not a lot, but just enough to make everything white again. :)
