Bigger and Bigger and Bigger!

Quite a while back, I posted about all the additions that they made to our local hospital.  I thought at the time, that they were done with adding on to it.  I was wrong. (Well, imagine that!!)  You can read one of my earlier posts about it here if you are interested.

They added on another whole section on the back as you see here.

The sun was going down when I took this picture and shining directly on these walls.  It made them look a sort of gold color in this picture, but they are actually a light green.

This side of the addition has part of the green up, but there is still some of the black under layer that needs to be covered.

That concrete in the front there is our new helicopter pad for the patients brought in or taken out by helicopter.

This is a better picture of the helicopter pad.  That building across the street is our local medical group where many of our town doctors have their offices.

This side shows the green color better of the walls.  They are still finishing putting in the windows.  You can see two here that just have plastic over them.

In my earlier post, part of this was yellow and part was black.  You can see it is all green now.  The brown brick part is the original hospital.  The orange part is some of the earlier addition that they did.

I am still not used to this orange and green together.  I just don't care for it much.  It is a very pretty building inside, though.  Some of my readers may remember how it looked inside the atrium where the City Orchestra played a while back.

Hi Daisy, I'm back after being gone for about a week... Am trying to catch up!!!! Big Job... ha...

WOW--that hospital is amazing... I know your community is very happy to have it so near. Hope your and your family never have to 'use' it ---but it is there if you do need it.

How is your Mother doing?
Hugs,
Betsy

This is a very nice hospital and amazing all the improvements/additions they have made. I'm with you, the color scheme is unique - we actually have a local McDonald's that used these same colors and eventually they re-painted to make everyone happy!!!
I know it is a blessing to have this facility nearby.
Hope you have a great day.

It looks like a good hospital Daisy. I know small towns really need good hospitals.

I'm sort of digging those colors together!

So happy to see your town has a hospital that is growing and improving!

Betsy, my mom is doing about the same. She's not getting any worse, but she's not really improving either. I can still get her to laugh on occasion which makes it a good visit. Thank you for asking. :)

Mildred, it is good to have it here in case we need it. We've been there quite a bit over the years for all of us at one time or another, so I imagine we will need it again sometime.

Susie, they are doing all of these additions trying to get more specialists and doctors to come to our town. They are trying to compete with the bigger hospitals in Toledo and Ft. Wayne, both of which are an hour away. It would be good to have the specialists here so the people don't have to drive so far to see them.

Betty, that is one thing I really like about our little town. The people here are progressive minded and try to keep making things better.

Thank you all for your comments. I hope your weeks are going well. :)

Good to have an up to date hospital close by.

Daisy said...

Hi Lynne! We live just a few blocks from the hospital, so, yes, we are very lucky to have it nearby. Happy Wednesday to you. :)

I hope it helps create some jobs and the crazy health care plan doesn't eliminate them.
Ok sorry for the political interjection here..... :/

Daisy said...

More jobs would be a good thing here, for sure, Jen. They are kind of a scarcity in this area right now.

You do make me smile Daisy. Even the simplest of your comments. I've just got yours on my blog and it's good to have something to make you smile when you first switch on your computer in the morning.
I've just noticed your profile pic, I like it.

Aw...thanks, Lynne! :D I dressed as a black cat for a Halloween party at the library a couple of years ago. This seemed like a good time to use it as a profile picture.

Talking about new hospital jobs, a lot of workers have lost their jobs at our local hospital due to robots taking over duties such as dispensing drugs, cleaning, washing etc. True story it's actually quite frightening.

Hey Daisy. I didn't go back to see what it used to look like, but I think the new look is really pretty! Of course, I don't have to look at it all the time, and in person, like you!! :)

Daisy said...

Oh my gosh, Ryan! I don't think I'd want robots taking over at the hospital. That does sound scary. That hasn't happened here, at least, not yet!

Hi Becky! I do like the green. I think it looks sleek and pretty and modern. It doesn't blend in so well with the older buildings around it, but I can live with it. It's the orange on it that I don't care for much, but I guess I'll get used to it.

They painted a big red and white cross on the helicopter pad today that shows where they should land.

Hi Nensa! Yes, I think we are very lucky too. I'm glad to hear from you. I've been reading about all the news from your country and thinking of you. I hope all is well with you. Hugs to you.

G'eve Daisy ~ TY for your sweet notes & wishes. They mean a lot to me. I am getting there ... I don't need a Halloween mask this year, I am a bright yellow & green turning to gold.

These colors on this building would want to make one stay WELL, they are truly icky.

Have a BOO-TEA-FUL weekend!

Exciting new changes! What a nice place to take a broken leg(or an orchestra)!

Daisy said...

I'm glad to hear you're making progress, Marydon. I hope you feel much better soon. Happy Halloween weekend to you! :-)

Hi Rebecca! I'd much prefer going there to hear the orchestra, but if I come up with a broken leg, I'll be glad it's there. :D Happy Halloween weekend to you!

It's wonderful to have a first rate hospital so close to home! Eventually we all go either as patients or visitors. It's been interesting to watch the progress via your camera.

Diana, I wouldn't be able to count how many times I've already been there, and I'm sure I'll be there again. We are very fortunate to have it here close by when we need it. :-)
