After the rain, a carpet of pink petals had been spread out underneath the crabapple trees.
The rain came down so fast that it took a while for it to drain off and soak into the ground. It was standing in a big puddle above the underground drain in the park.
There was another big puddle behind one of the baseball fields underneath some pine trees.
Everywhere I looked there were petals on the ground. Pink and white ones were spread like confetti over the parking lots.
Yellow ones were spread out underneath the forsythia bushes too.
More pink petals lined the street along the curb
and were littered over the sidewalks too.
I did find some trees that still had blooms on them. I found these white tinged in pink ones.
This tree had a bird's nest in it. Sweet location for a home in the midst of all those flowers, don't you think? As they say in the real estate business, "Location! Location! Location!"
I saw this pretty tree in the neighborhood on the way home that was still holding onto its blooms too. I liked the way it was framed by the black and brown lines of the corner fence on the left and tree trunk and branch to the right of it too.
Happy Sunday to you all!

Beautiful photos, Daisy! No matter where the petals lie...they're still so pretty! :)
It's always a little sad to see the rain and wind knock all the pretty blooms off the trees. Georgia is getting heavy rain early this morning.
Hope you have a nice work week.
Thank you, Becky. They did make a pretty covering for the grounds in the park. :)
Hi Mildred. Thank you! We had more rain most of the past two days here. That time of year, I suppose. :) Hope you have a wonderful week too.
I'd say everyone got lots of rain this weekend! Well, maybe not everyone. We certainly got our share too.
I love seeing the pink petals everywhere. Looks pretty Daisy!
Hi Susie! It has been pretty wet! I thought of you with all the recent storms in the South. I hope you are in for some sun for a while now. :)
We had so much rain we have now petals left!!
I do love to see a carpet of pink petals on the ground - such a pretty sight. And then in a couple of days - poof! It's as though they were never there. Back to nature.
Denise, we had more hard rains again today. I have a feeling our petals are all gone from the trees by now too!
Diana, isn't it surprising how much things can change outside in just a day, even. It always amazes me.
I just love the colored trees too. The last photo is stunning.
Daisy, your blog is soooooooooo W I D E with my new monitor. Wider than my own blog !! That is the cool part of your template, is that it fits any screen ( auto width html )
Hi Speedy! :-)
I'm wide?? Maybe I better go on a diet! HA HA! :D
I'm glad you liked that last picture. It was a favorite of mine too.
Very nice pictures!!
The last photo shows some gorgeous blooms. Pretty tree with the birds nest in it too. That is a lot of petals from those trees. They must have been loaded.
Hi Brenda! Thank you! :-)
Hi Becca! Thank you! They did have lots of petals on them, plus there are several trees together in some of those places.
Hope you both are having a good week!
I think those are pink and yellow magic carpets! Good pictures...
Hi Carol! Thank you. I'm glad you liked them. I hope you are having a good week. :)
I almost feel like you could have a wedding in your street!
Well, an inexpensive one, anyway?? LOL
TotalBlammBlamm, Yes! HA HA! The "aisle" is strewn with petals and waiting for the bride.
My niece was the flower girl at my wedding. (She was three years old at the time.) We had given her a basket of petals to drop one by one all along the aisle of the church as she came down it before I entered. She forgot to do the petals.
Then when she arrived at the altar, the minister pointed to a spot on the floor indicating where she should stand. She misunderstood him and thought he was pointing to where she should put the petals from her basket. So she upended the whole basket of petals in a pile there at the altar where we were to stand. Made everybody laugh and makes for a great story to tease my niece with now. :D
So pretty. We didn't get our gorgeous blossoms this year because every time something would bloom, a frost would hit again. I loved being able to look at your pictures :-)
Hi Jeri! Thank you. It's a shame you missed out on the blossoms this year. Spring can be an unpredictable time.
Wow Daisy those are great photos. I love them all and the bottom one, that beautiful tree. YOur neighborhood looks like a great place to walk. Everything looks so green too. The confetti is great! I'm behind everywhere, hope to catch up soon.
Hi Sandy! It's always good to see you here. Thank you. I'm glad you liked these photos. I really liked the way the last one turned out too. Yes, we finally have green all around---Hurray!! (Of course, that means we need to mow the grass again. HA!) :D
THe pink blossoms are so cheery! And I would say that is my favorite kind of ground "litter." :-)
Me too, Shelley! At least we don't have to clean up that "litter." :)
Hello Daisy :)
Lot of nice pictures Daisy heheheh Love it :)
hugs hugs
Hi Netster! Thank you. Happy weekend to you! :-)
Daisy,
The pink blossoms spread across the lawn sure are lovely. Your photos are so pretty. Rain can be sad, but the plants need it to live. I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day.
Oh, my! This is awesome, Daisy. I love the beauty of the walks you take us on. TY
Have a happy Mother's Day weekend.
TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon
Thank you so much, Brenda, and Marydon! I hope you both have a wonderful Mother's Day too! :D
Beautiful!
Some of the shots reminded me of the movie "Mary Poppins". Cherry trees do that on their own but then coupled with rain puddles and all over the pavement, well what can I say...
Have a delightful Sunday and soak in all the spring color while you can!
Hi Lanny! I'm soaking the colors in (and I'm also soaked--It's been raining here again today! HA!)
Wishing you a wonderful Sunday as well. :)
