Enjoying Some Art

This is one of my nephews. He is my brother's youngest son. Ever since he could hold a crayon in his hand, he has been creating pictures. He progressed from crayon art to pencil and ink drawings and on to oil and acrylic paintings. He is now 16 years old and his art is a passion for him. He hopes to make a career out of it in some way eventually.

He painted the picture below and gave it to his grandmother (my mother). It is hanging on the wall in her room at the nursing home. Yes, I know it looks like it is hanging a bit crookedly. Part of it is the fact that I had to take the picture from a strange angle because of the way the furniture is arranged there.

Because I think he did a wonderful job with it, I wanted to share it with you. Click on the picture if you'd like to enlarge it and see the details.

My nephew has been painting for several years now and has several other works that I love. I hope he continues to work on his art and to develop his talent.

What exceptional talent and I know your Mom must be so proud to have his art in her room. I wish him much success in furthering his talent.

Mildred, she was quite pleased when he brought it to her. She made a point of showing it to the nurses and aides working there, so I know she is proud to own it. I hope you have a great weekend. :)

Daisy, this young man has talent!!! He did a great job painting the rough water and that's not easy!! The boat has great detail, too. I hope he will find a career in Art.

That is beautiful - your nephew certainly is talented! I hope he continues as an artist - it would be a shame to waste that gift!

Dorothy, every time I see something new that he has worked on, I am impressed all over again. He really does give a lot of attention to getting the details right it seems to me.
Hope you have a good weekend! :)

Hi Terri! I love the pink clouds in the sky that he made. I don't know if he saw something else which inspired this, or if it all came out of his head, but I really liked it.
Hope you have a great weekend! :)

Good morning, Susie! Thank you. Some time I'll have to see if I can take some photos of some of his other works to share too. He has several that I think are just fantastic for one so young.

Enjoy your weekend! :D

Wow! The water looks so REAL, and the clouds in the sky are magnificant, as is the splendid ship. I enlarged the picture and then called my family to come admire it. Please give the artist my best regards.

Thank you, Diana. I was impressed with what a great job he did too. The water really does look real to me. Since he is my nephew, of course, I am a little biased, but I am proud of how hard he works on his art and the time and effort he puts into it.

There is such talent shown in this painting. The rendering of the waves are incredible. I hope he continues and I hope you show us more!

Sandy, I hope he continues too. If I can, I'll have to see if I can take more pictures of some of his works next time I visit there. I don't get to see them very often though.

Oh I hope you do get more pics!
