The red thing you see here is the top of a fire hydrant. It is nearly buried under the snow that has been piled at the side of the street by the snow plows.
At many intersections, it is very difficult to see if any traffic is approaching before pulling out to turn because of the walls of snow at the corners.
There is no one here at the Kmart Garden Shop looking to buy flowers or seeds to plant today.
Down at this end, you can just see the very corner of the Wal-Mart building.

Wow, Daisy! Those are gorgeous pictures!
You all got a LOT more snow than we did! Although, I haven't been out to see a parking lot. Maybe it's piled up pretty high and I just don't know it. :)
I'd be happy to share with you, Chris. HA! Maybe you would be better off staying home and keeping warm, though. :)
Fantastic photos of your journey through the ice age!!! Burrrr. Loved seeing all of them while sitting in my warm house. Snow is so gorgeous...
At work today we wanted to go outside and play "King of the Mountain" on the snow mountains. Alas, we had to get our work done instead.
Sandy, from inside your warm house is probably the best place to enjoy these photos. It is 9 degrees here right at the moment! :D
Diana, you probably have even BIGGER snow mountains to be King of than we have here! Too bad duty called. :D
Winter wonderland!!!! (It is fun for a month)
Great shots Daisy
Speedy, I couldn't agree more. Actually, a week would be plenty for me! :D
Love your photos.Don't you wonder where they are going to put the snow if you get another storm? The parking lots will only be big enough for a couple cars! It was 72 degrees here today.;<)
Oops. Did I tell you there is a surprise for you over at my blog? Come & get it!
Cassie, when we get a lot of snow downtown, they have to bring dump trucks in to haul it away and dump it out in the country, but I think at the shopping center they just keep piling it up at the edges. Yes, it does seem like eventually they will run out of room.
72 degrees!! I am green with envy! ha ha! Enjoy it for me, will you? :D
I can certainly see where those "mountains" would make driving very hazardous. Be careful out there!
The icicle pictures are really pretty Daisy.
Hi Susie! Yes, when there are large piles of snow at the corners of the intersections, it does make it hard to see around them. Sometimes by the time I pull up far enough to see around them, I am halfway into the intersection. I am careful as I can be though.
I was following the pack all swallowed in their coats
with scarves of red tied ’round their throats
to keep their little heads from fallin’ in the snow
and I turned ’round and there you go
and, Michael, you would fall
and turn the white snow red as strawberries in the summertime white winter hymnal
Daisy, I think you have more snow there than we do where we are in Indiana.
Ghost, what a cool song that was! Thank you. I had never heard that before, but I really liked it. You find the greatest videos. :D
Dorothy, the snow we have on the ground now is a cumulative amount from several different snowfalls. I think I heard them say on the local weather station on TV the other day that our area set a new record for the most amount of snow this year for the month of January. I'd rather we had set a record for the least amount of snow! HA! I'm glad the weather didn't keep you from getting to see your new grandson. :D
Doesn't it just look lovely when the sun shines?
Lynne, when the snow first falls and it is fresh and new and the sun shines on it, it does look lovely. It looks like someone scattered diamonds all across the surface of it. :D
